Inscriptions:Printed on verso: “338 Views in Egypt and Nubia. The Sphynx and the Great Pyramid at Geezeh. The Sphynx, whose base has more than once of late years been, to a greater or less extent, uncovered, is again almost entirely hidden by the drifted sand, and the entrance to a small temple excavated in the sandstone rock between its fore paws, is, in consequence, no longer visible.
