Description: Lumière et Cie., the company which manufactured this camera, was founded by Charles Antoine Lumière and produced photographic devices between 1893 and 1961. Antoine Lumière was the father of Auguste and Antoine Lumière, who contributed to the invention of the moving picture.
The Lumière Sterelux was manufactured in two styles during the 1930s. This camera is the later of the two models two models, and reflects the style of the times through an Art Deco diamond pattern on the back of the camera. The diamond pattern was as much functional as it was decorative; through these diamonds the photographer could see how many exposures he or she had made already.
